*Appropriate
for applications in which heat mounting (150°) is acceptable.
** The reversal of certain fibrous papers such as newsprint
or tissue may result in trace amounts of ink/fibers left behind. |
*Above
reflect dwell time added after vacuum is drawn.
**Time in press after lamination.
The industry average temperature for most dry mounting is 185°-190°F
whether using a mechanical or vacuum press. The average mounting
time for mechanical presses is 1-3 minutes, while vacuum system
times range from 3-5 minutes depending upon the draw time of
any particular press. Draw times will vary between overall press
size and manufacturer.
For Artcare Restore the recommended temperature
is 150°-170°F. The recommended mounting time for mechanical
presses is 15-30 seconds and vacuum system times will be between
15-30 seconds after drawn.
Increasing either the time or the temperature will generally
create better bonds. The time chart reflects release film or
release paper being used in the mounting package. If a release
board is introduced into the mounting package additional time
could be necessary. NOTE:
Do not allow press temperatures to exceed 220°F as it may
result in damage to the foamboard or artwork.Testing time/temperature
ratios is always a good idea when mounting unfamiliar projects. |
